RFDmx  Underground Tour 2010

It’s on again. Big air, cold beers and more than a few good times are what wait in store for this year’s riders of the 2010 RFDmx Underground Tour which kicks off in Corryong Vic on August 28th.

Twenty riders will be battling it out over four individual competitions for the overall series win and the $20,000 in prizes up for grabs in this year’s Underground Tour.
This year’s series will be made up of the following four competitions:

Tiger Racing’s Corryong Classic – Aug 28th – Corryong VIC
We kick off this year’s tour at the famous Hillier ranch. The perfect combination of rolling green hills, friendly country pubs and a kick arse Greg Hillier built compound make for an awesome way to get the tour up and rolling.

The Project FMX Party
- Sep 4th - Rockhampton QLD
The second stop of our tour will take us to sunny central Qld and an all new course at the Project fmx motorcycle park. The course promises to be this year’s wild card round with a variety of different ramps and dirt hits designed to sort the men from the boys. This round will also be open to spectators which will make the atmosphere all the more exciting.

The No-Moma Racing Invitational – Sep 11th – Boonah QLD
The quite, scenic course that makes up Todd Back’s home compound will once again take us back to the roots of the Underground tour. Featuring two perfectly groomed 75fters the third round of the tour is the time to shine for the guys with the big tricks.

RFDmx Open- Oct 2nd - Darwin NT
This is it. The final round. It’s all or nothing and the 2010 tour is set to wrap up with a bang. A course will be placed in front of a live, fmx deprived, screaming Darwin crowd making every rider want to lay it on the line to make the after party beers taste all the more sweeter. Not to mention a prize pool 4 times as big as the previous three rounds.

The RFDmx Underground Tour was conceived in 2007 as a way of providing a much needed series of events for the lesser known riders in Australia, who previously had little or no chance to showcase their skills in front of the media and other riders. The series was immediately a success and has grown bigger and better. With an increased amount of support from the industry making it possible to increase the amount of prize money on offer and give more back. That’s what the series is all about - the riders. The defending champ from 2009, Joe Sheppard said “I'm really looking forward to defending my title this year, winning last years championship was a huge stepping stone for me, and I'm pumped to step it up and try to win it again this year.” An all new open nomination system has made the tour more accessible to riders than ever before. Any one wishing to ride this year’s tour simply has to log on to RFDmx.com.au, check out the sup regs and fill out a nomination form. The 20 riders will then be selected from those nominations to attend this year’s tour. Now in its fourth year, the RFDmx Underground Tour is Australia’s longest running “FMX competition series” and has again gained the full support from such sponsors as: Tiger Racing, Project FMX, No-Momma Racing, Loose Kid Industries, Gambler Body Designs, Dirty Pumper, Greef Clothing Company, PDS Toll, Northline and Motorsports NT. Once again the media has fully supported this year’s tour with FreeriderMX, Russell Brothers Films, Grant Cross Photos and many others keen to capture all the action and deliver it straight to the fans. The series is being held at a mix of private compounds and for the first time live venues. The variety in course design from round to round is sure to push the riders not only in their ability to throw themselves and the bike around in the air but also their general bike skill. Loose Kid Industries rider Ryan Apps said “I can’t wait for round two in Rockhampton, I just know that course is going to be gnarly. I love a course with good variety and the combination of ramp and dirt hits at Project FMX is going to be so much fun.” One thing’s for sure this years RFDmx Underground Tour is going to be a hell of a good time. Slur Destructive rider and last years runner up, Matt Lindores said “I really just can’t wait to catch up with all the boys again. We only get to see each other a few times a year and this year’s tour is going to be a hell of a lot of fun, on and off the bike.”
